About the OD4SG 2.0 Project
Open Data for Sport Governance 2.0 (OD4SG 2.0) is an international project funded under the Erasmus+ program (ERASMUS-SPORT-2023). It builds on the success of the initial OD4SG project, which collected data from over 500 sports organizations, and aims to create an advanced digital platform that helps sports organizations implement good governance practices through data-driven benchmarking.
The project addresses challenges such as corruption, doping, match-fixing, and financial mismanagement by equipping sports organizations with automated governance assessment tools. By leveraging open data, OD4SG 2.0 promotes transparency, sustainability, and improved decision-making in sports governance across Europe.
Project Objectives
- Develop an automated IT tool for governance benchmarking – enable sports organizations to assess and improve their management structures.
- Expand and refine governance indicators – build on key performance indicators (KPIs) and key risk indicators (KRIs) identified in OD4SG.
- Promote digital transformation in sports governance – enhance data collection and analysis for better strategic decision-making.
- Facilitate knowledge sharing and best practices – provide open-access resources to support governance improvements in sports organizations.
