SOPROS: Visit to Paris
At the beginning of the week, the team from the Institute for Sport Governance (ISG), represented by Paweł Zembura, PhD, visited Paris as part of the SOPROS project. This initiative aims to enhance the social protection of athletes in EU countries and plays a vital role in shaping future standards for social responsibility and good governance in sports.
What is SOPROS about?
The SOPROS project focuses on analyzing and evaluating social protection systems for athletes. One of our key achievements is the development of an innovative tool that helps athletes understand their rights and opportunities for social protection. Currently, we are gathering feedback from athletes and stakeholders involved in this area.
Who are we looking to collaborate with?
In Poland, our collaboration includes entities such as the Ministry of Sport and Tourism, the Institute of Sport, the Central Military Sports Team, sports associations, and clubs.
We are seeking organizations and experts who would like to:
- Share their opinions on the social protection system for athletes.
- Support the distribution of our tool among athletes.
- Participate in workshops, which will be held in September in Warsaw.
Why should you get involved?
Based on the collected data and analyses of national social protection systems, we define best and worst practices and develop recommendations. In previous projects, ISG created the first-ever comparative reports on employment practices for athletes in the EU. Such research findings have a tangible impact on national and international policies.
If you want to learn more, feel free to contact us. Together, we can influence the development of better solutions for athletes.
