Why support sport today… beyond the stands?

For many, sport is all about emotions, competition, victories and defeats. But for us – and perhaps for you – sport means much more. It is a space where values can be shaped, relationships built, and a real impact made on the quality of life in local communities.

At the Institute for Sport Governance, we believe that sport matters. But only when success on the pitch is backed by responsibility, transparency and genuine social engagement. That is why, for years, we have been working to ensure these values become the foundation of sport.

Why this fundraising campaign?

We have launched our campaign on Patronite because we want to continue acting independently and effectively. Your support will help us achieve three strategic goals:

1. CSR Reports for Sports Clubs – 2024/2025 Edition

We produce regular, in-depth analyses of the corporate social responsibility (CSR) practices of football clubs in the Polish Ekstraklasa and First League. We assess how clubs engage with their communities, manage resources, and whether they operate ethically and transparently.

These reports:

highlight best practices and expose gaps,
inspire change (clubs that have benefited from our reports include Widzew Łódź, Cracovia and Miedź Legnica),
are shared with decision-makers, journalists and social organisations,
are publicly available in both Polish and English.

2. ESG in Sport Congress – Kraków 2025

In partnership with the Cracovia football club, we are organising a nationwide ESG in Sport Congress, bringing together the sports, academic and social sectors to discuss responsible governance and the positive impact of sport.

We want this event to be:

a platform for students and emerging sport leaders,
a space for acquiring knowledge and building professional networks,
the next edition of our original “Sport Students’ MeetUp” – the largest student event focused on the sports industry in Poland.

3. Education and Promotion of Good Practices

We are creating:

podcasts, webinars, e-books and infographics,
public campaigns that promote CSR and ESG practices in sport,
accessible educational materials from Erasmus+ Sport projects, covering transparency, athletes’ rights, innovation and governance.

Our initiatives reach sports clubs, local governments, academia – and, most importantly, the young generation of future sport leaders.

Why does it matter?

Sport has a significant influence on local communities – yet we often lack the data, knowledge and motivation to implement meaningful changes. Our reports show where the potential lies, and where there are still shortcomings. We work with clubs, students and volunteers – because they will soon shape the future of sport in Poland.

Your support allows us to maintain our independence, high-quality work and long-term impact. And, above all, it helps us make a real difference where courage and responsibility are most needed.
