CSR in Sport Academy Launches – Registration Opens for a Nationwide Webinar Series
Social responsibility and good governance are increasingly becoming part of the discussion about the future of sport. Sports clubs, federations, event organizers, and business partners are beginning to recognize that sport is not only about results and competition, but also about its real impact on society, the environment, and the way organizations operate.
With this in mind, the CSR in Sport Academy has been created – a nationwide online educational program dedicated to responsible governance in sport.
The project is implemented by the Institute for Sport Governance (ISG) and funded through the PROO 4 grant of the National Freedom Institute – Centre for Civil Society Development.
Education for Responsible Sport
The aim of the Academy is to increase knowledge and awareness about social responsibility in sport and good governance within sports organizations.
The program is designed not only to clarify key concepts related to CSR and ESG in sport, but above all to present practical ways of implementing responsible initiatives in clubs, federations, and sports academies.
The Academy also aims to bring together individuals interested in this topic and create a space for exchanging experiences among representatives of different parts of the sports ecosystem – from professional to amateur sport.
Who Is the Academy For?
The CSR in Sport Academy is aimed at people interested in sports management and the social dimension of sport, in particular:
- employees of sports clubs from various disciplines,
- individuals cooperating with sports clubs and sports federations,
- representatives of sponsors and public institutions,
- students of sport, management, law, and economics,
- members of academic clubs and student organizations,
- board members of small and medium-sized sports clubs and sports academies.
The Academy is open both to people already working in sport and to those who are just planning to develop their careers in this field.
What Does the Program Look Like?
The Academy program consists of 9 online sessions in the form of webinars, held weekly on a fixed day and at a fixed time.
Each session will be led by a practitioner – someone with experience in sports management, CSR, ESG, or governance.
The webinars will be practical in nature and will include both a presentation by the speaker and a session for questions and discussion with participants.
Planned topics include:
- understanding CSR and ESG in sport and how these concepts are evolving,
- building social value through a sports club,
- promoting sport for all within professional sports organizations,
- the role of volunteering in sport,
- reducing the environmental impact of sports organizations,
- transparency and good governance in sport,
- responsible financial management in sports clubs,
- developing a sports organization strategy that incorporates social responsibility.
What Will Participants Gain?
Participants of the CSR in Sport Academy will gain practical knowledge and inspiration for action.
The program offers:
- knowledge based on real-life examples from Poland and abroad,
- opportunities to interact with sports experts and practitioners,
- space for discussion and exchange of experiences,
- opportunities to connect with others interested in responsible sport.
After completing the program, participants will receive a certificate of participation in the CSR in Sport Academy, confirming their knowledge in responsible sports governance.
From Knowledge to Action
One of the key goals of the CSR in Sport Academy is to encourage participants to take concrete actions within their own organizations.
For this reason, the program has been designed so that participants can translate the knowledge gained into practice. After completing the program, participants will be invited to share information about initiatives they have implemented in their organizations. This may include small social initiatives, environmental actions, or the introduction of new transparency or volunteer policies.
The Academy aims to build a community of people who not only understand the importance of responsibility in sport, but who actively implement it in practice.
